Caroline Calvert

Caroline Calvert Couture www.carolinecalvert.com

Caroline Calvert has been attending DNA events since 1999, and officially became a member in 2003. She served two years on the board as VP of communications helping launch the new and improved website.

Caroline started her own business two years ago, Caroline Calvert Couture www.carolinecalvert.com designing custom bridal wear.  She went to school for fashion design at Blanche McDonald and Kwantlen University in Vancouver and spend many years designing for local Vancouver design companies.   Over the past 10 years she has been designing wedding dresses on the side for friends and then started getting referrals from others.   She decided to launch her own label Caroline Calvert Couture noticing the need and a gap in the market for locally designed couture gowns.

The magic and dreams that are part of the essence of every wedding are the inspirations that have her creating such beautiful worksof art.  Each gown is made to measure with exquisite attention to detail.   All of her gowns are unique so brides too can feel unrepeatable. The style is a perfect mix of modern and romantic, elegant and refined simple but spirited looks.

Caroline has seen such great success in her couture line that she is now launching a Beach Bridal collection that will be sold at Shop Coccoon on Cambie.  Seeing that Vancouver is full of active and athletic people not looking for the over the top gown she decided to fill the gap with a simple elegant affordable collection.  This collection will be launching summer of 2008.

Caroline has a passion for the outdoors and loves camping, hiking and biking in the summer and skiing in the winter.  She also took up golf after she attended the DNA gold tournament a few years ago and soon after bought golf clubs.  She looking forward to the golf tournament again this year and hopes to see you out there too.

Finding inspiration from fellow DNA entrepreneurs and the on going support of the membership is something Caroline finds very rewarding about being a DNA member.  Not only has she made some lasting friendships she finds the seminars and events something to look forward to each month.
